Twin sisters Barbara Murphy and Bev Rigney, members of The Rossmoor Woman’s Club, are equally excited about the club’s 10th Annual Outdoor Living and Garden Tour.
The event, which helps raise funding for the club’s many charities, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. The gardens of seven homes in the Rossmoor area are being showcased.
All net proceeds are donated to local charities such as We Care, Los Alamitos Museum, Precious Life Center, and others.
The Rossmoor Woman’s Club is a group of dynamic women who are dedicated to helping our local community.
In addition to donations of money from the fundraisers, the group also answers needs of the community such as donating prom dresses for homeless students at Bethune School.
The club’s meetings are the second Wednesday of the month at the Old Ranch Country Club. Membership consists of women from Los Alamitos, Long Beach, Seal Beach, and surrounding communities.
The Rossmoor Woman’s Club also sponsors the Student of the Month program for students from Los Alamitos High School and the Student of the Cycle program for students at Laurel Continuation High School. Each month during the school year, the RWC honors one outstanding student from Los Alamitos High School as Student of the Month. This honor is based on academic performance and community support. Students are honored at the RWC monthly meeting and receive a cash award for their achievements. College scholarships are awarded by RWC at the end of the school term.
