Seal Beach Police officers arrested four juveniles last weekend on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a woman and child were shot with a BB gun.
On Sunday, July 31, at approximately 5 p.m., officers responded to a report that two victims were shot near Electric Avenue at 12th Street. Additional callers reported the incident as a possible “drive by shooting.” The victims, a
5-year-old child and an adult woman, had been in the park when they were struck.
It was determined that the weapon used was a BB gun.
The victims were treated by paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority for their injuries. It appears the victims were randomly targeted.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect car , which was later located by Officers. Four suspects were detained and positively identified by witnesses. A BB gun was recovered and the suspects were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and other related charges. All four suspects are juveniles. Law enforcement agencies genrally do not release the names of juveniles.
