What does Rossmoor mean?

The Rossmoor Homeowners Association is pleased to announce that it will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior in 2010.

The graduating senior must be living in a home in Rossmoor with the home resident having a current 2010 membership in the RHA.  This is another benefit offered exclusively to RHA members as thanks for their support.

Any Rossmoor resident with a graduating high school senior can qualify the senior for this scholarship opportunity merely by paying the RHA annual dues for 2010 of $20.00 per household.

The winner will be selected by the RHA based upon a point system with 40% for grade point average and school achievements, 40% for school and community service and 20% for a short essay of no more than two pages (500 words), on “What Rossmoor Means to Me.”

Applications will be available in March and must be submitted by the end of May 2010.  The award will be made by the end of June 2010.

The RHA sent out membership materials in early January.

If you didn’t get the letter or need another membership application, please go to the RHA website www.Rossmoor-RHA.org and download the membership and scholarship applications or contact the RHA at 562-799-1401 and leave your name and address and request for membership materials so your high school senior can be eligible for this scholarship.

The RHA really appreciates the support of the Rossmoor community and the many loyal Rossmoor residents who have supported the RHA through the years.

“We are excited about finally being able to give back some benefits to our members in 2010 and hope to increase this program each year in the future,” said RHA member Bill Gekler.
