Multiple departments responded to a reported fire at Walt’s Wharf on Main Street in Seal Beach on Monday morning.

Orange County Fire Authority confirmed that when units arrived on the scene at 10:41 a.m. it was apparent that something was burning inside the restaurant.

“Firefighters from Engine 44 found smoke showing on their arrival and upgraded the incident to a working fire. Crews initiated a search for occupants and an attack of the fire – isolating it and preventing its extension,” OCFA said in a statement on the incident.

OCFA reported no injuries and once the fire was put down, firefighters began working on salvage operations and limiting the damage. OCFA also noted that the fire is currently under investigation.

In addition to OCFA, units from the Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Huntington Beach Fire Department, Long Beach Fire Department were also on scene, along with Seal Beach Police Department to assist in the effort.

In 1993, Walt’s Wharf suffered a grease fire in the kitchen on the day before that year’s Christmas Parade. The restaurant suffered $50,000 in damage, but was able to re-open about  week later.
