Fourth generation Seal Beach resident and surfer Eugene “Gene” Stegman, 29, seen inset, died June 7. A handful of his friends and family did a sundown paddle out on Sunday to remember Stegman. “We all grew up together surfing on the south side of Seal Beach,” said Sean Kyle, who helped organize the event.
