Sunset Beach’s greenbelt restrooms, located between North Pacific and South Pacific Avenues, have received a $93,000 interior & exterior renovation, by Huntington Beach’s Public Works Department. This is the city’s first renovation since the County built the restrooms. The work included extensive repairs and corrosion-treatment on the metal doors at the five heavily-used restroom buildings, according to Ken Dills, Project Manager.
“We take pride in being able to offer our residents and visitors the best experience possible when coming to our beaches. I’m excited that with the rehabilitation of our Sunset Beach restrooms, we are fulfilling our goal of making this one of the best beaches in the country,” said HB Mayor Pro Tem Lyn Semeta.
“Sunset Beach residents deserve to have clean, safe and respectable public restrooms,” said HB City Council Member Patrick Brenden, a Sunset Beach regular. “This is an important investment in maintaining our city’s image as a premier visitor destination. While we face daunting fiscal challenges, it is good to know that through the creativity of staff and the resolve of City Council, this important work got done.”
“I think the work on the greenbelt is great,” said Kevin Paulson, Sunset Beach Community Association President. “Over the last few years, the city has put a lot of time and effort into improving the greenbelt by replacing an out-of-date irrigation system, hiring a new landscape company and the bathrooms are now in much better condition. We are always grateful for the attention the city gives our unique community.”
