Interval House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence has racked up an impressive array of local regional and national honors and awards for it programs.
The non-profit advocate for battered women and their children, as well as anyone downtrodden, has continued to work on behalf of many homeless and disenfranchised people in the west Orange County area.
As the 2009 holiday season approaches, leaders of the shelter this week announced they are struggling to make ends meet for their clients.
“The holidays are, sadly, our busiest time of year,” said Carol Ann Williams, Interval House executive director. “We are overwhelmed with the number of women and children who turn to us for safety, shelter, and the promise of hope for a brighter New Year. By helping with just one of the needs listed below, your generosity will touch numerous lives this holiday season.”
Interval House is offering the following gift giving outlets for those interested:
Gift Certificates for Supermarkets -These help our families purchase exactly the items they need most during the holidays.
Gift Certificates for Retailers or Entertainment: It is especially hard to obtain holiday gifts for teenagers and women… gift certificates to department or retail stores (such as Target, Walmart, etc.), music stores, movie theatres, or amusement parks are great favorites that help ensure that the women and children receive what they need most this holiday season.
Canned Food: Families this holiday season are in desperate need of unopened, commercially packaged and non-perishable foods such as canned meats, beans, soups, fruits, and vegetables.
Disposable Diapers: Interval House Emergency Shelters will be home to many little ones this holiday season, and disposable diapers for all ages are very much needed by our children.
Used Car, Van or Truck Donations – Please help Interval House provide transportation to the women and children in such great need.
