The city of Seal Beach has updated the Housing Element of the General Plan. The Housing Element is required by state law.
According to an update posted on the city website today, Aug. 20, “In response to comments received from the California Department of Housing and Community Development, the Housing Element has been reorganized and further revised.”
The council adopted the Housing Element in February 2022, but the state government hasn’t certified the document.
According to an email from Seal Beach Community Development Director Alexa Smittle, the Housing Element page provides both clean and red-lined versions of the updated draft.
