“The Seal Beach Lifeguard Association has postponed the annual Seal Beach Surfing Championships surf contest,” said Seal Beach Marine Safety Chief Joe Bailey on Thursday, Jan. 17, in an e-mail to the media.
“The contest is held during a waiting period when the surf is good,” Baily wrote. Â “On Monday (Jan. 14) the contest directors called the contest ‘on’ for this weekend and watched as the surf forecast deteriorated. Â In an effort to create a fun community event with good surf the contest will be held at a later date. Â More information can be found at www.sbsurfcontest.com or the surf contest Facebook page.”
