Seal Beach Surfing Championships postponed

“The Seal Beach Lifeguard Association has postponed the annual Seal Beach Surfing Championships surf contest,” said Seal Beach Marine Safety Chief Joe Bailey on Thursday, Jan. 17, in an e-mail to the media.

“The contest is held during a waiting period when the surf is good,” Baily wrote.   “On Monday (Jan. 14) the contest directors called the contest ‘on’ for this weekend and watched as the surf forecast deteriorated.  In an effort to create a fun community event with good surf the contest will be held at a later date.  More information can be found at www.sbsurfcontest.com or the surf contest Facebook page.”
