Seal Beach serious traffic case updates

On May 4, 2024, a following a traffic collision, a driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and possession of several weapons including brass knuckles, a switchblade, and a firearm.

“The case should be submitted to the DA’s office shortly, according to  Seal Beach Police Lt. Julia Clasby on Sept. 25.

The investigation of the June 22, 2024, fatal traffic collision Seal Beach Boulevard and Apollo Drive is ongoing, according to  Seal Beach Police Lt. Julia Clasby. 

On Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, around 7:11 p.m., two cars collided in the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. The collision put five people in a hospital. The driver of the car that apparently caused the collision fled on foot, according to the SBPD.

Police later identified Jahson Imgrund as the suspect. 

Imgrund turned himself into the SBPD on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.

According to Clasby, the case is open with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

According to ocourts.org, Imgrund has been accused of one count of felony hit and run with permanent and serious injury, one count of felony evading a peace officer/reckless driving, and one count of felony reckless driving causing injury to a person other than the driver.

No upcoming hearings 

Only one hearing was held in the case on Aug. 15. The courthouse website did not report any future court appearances as of Monday, Sept. 30.
