Man is accused of stealing a car in Buena Park and robbing an elderly woman in Seal Beach.
A man was arrested for robbing a woman in front of a Seal Beach business Sunday afternoon, Dec. 20.
According to the Seal Beach Police Department, an 82-year-old woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in front of the CVS Pharmacy at 12490 Seal Beach Boulevard.
The suspect apparently grabbed the woman’s purse, knocking her to the ground. Paramedics treated her for minor injuries.
Witnesses described the suspect and the car he was driving. The witnesses were even able to provide police with the license plate number.
Sgt. Steve Bowles, public information officer for the SBPD, said the car had been stolen in a carjacking in Buena park earlier that day.
A Cypress Police Department officer saw the stolen car, a white Scion, as it traveled east on Katella. The Seal Beach, Los Alamitos and Cypress police departments stopped the car in Stanton.
Andrew John Beal, a 21-year-old Long Beach resident, was arrested for robbery, robbery with a special enhancement for committing the robbery against an elderly victim, possession of stolen property and auto theft.
