Seal Beach Mayor Michael Levitt returned home from the hosptial Thursday afternoon, Feb. 23. His wife Gail Levitt confirmed his return in a telephone interview with the Sun. She said her husband plans to attend the Monday, Feb. 27 City Council meeting.
Levit was resting comfortably in their Leisure World unit, his wife said.
Doctors operated on Mayor Levitt’s heart valve Monday, Feb. 20. Gail Levitt said doctors repaired an “enormous hole in his valve.”
“He was born with a defective valve,” Gail Levitt said.
Fortunately, neither his heart nor his arteries suffered any damage as a result of the condition.
Gail Levitt said she was 99.99 percent certain he would attend the Monday night City Council meeting. She said that since Mayor Levitt is not supposed to drive, she would probably bring him to the meeting.
