Seal Beach man arrested for Old Town burglary

Seal Beach Police arrested a man Tuesday, Sept. 24, for burglarizing an Old Town area home while the occupant was inside.

At about 12:34 p.m., police received a 911 call from a from an Old Town resident who reported that he found an intruder in his bedroom. The resident said that he had been in another part of the home when he encountered a stranger in his bedroom.

The resident confronted the intruder, and the intruder fled on foot.  The resident chased the intruder, while updating the police communications center with his cellular phone.  Police units established a perimeter in the area to prevent the man’s escape.  Within minutes, police had a man in custody who was identified as Blake Neidhart, 30, of Seal Beach.

Neidhart was transported to the police station, where he was booked on a charge of residential burglary.  Neidhart was taken to the Orange County Jail, where he was held on a probation violation warrant.
