Seal Beach Lifeguards held their inaugural open house event on Saturday, June 6. Seal Beach Lions served 250 breakfasts. Kids threw plastic discs at targets, the public got to see CPR demonstrations, and many individuals toured Lifeguard Headquarters. There was limited space in the observation room, which featured a large telescope near the back and a mid-20th century phone system. A TV reporter was observed interviewing Marine Safety Chief Joe Bailey. Several individuals climbed a ladder to get a look at the Marine Safety Department’s rescue boat.
