What would you do with $1 million? Seal Beach residents and filmmakers Robert Aguilar Jr. and his daughter Presley Aguilar, 7, would like to find out.

They have written, produced, directed and in the case of young Presley, even starred in their own commercial which is currently vying for votes on Doritos’s official website www.CrashTheSuperBowl.Doritos.Com.

Robert, a former film and television writer and producer, was inspired by his daughter to write “Daddy’s Girl.”

A 30 second commercial spot about a young girl and her dad and their common love for football and Doritos.

The commercial also stars veteran actors Stoney Westmoreland (“Scandal,” “Breaking Bad”) and Anne Letscher (from the national Broadway tour of “Annie”).

Presley, a veteran performer in her own right, starred in a national commercial spot last year for the Hasbro game “Chasing Cheeky” and continues to act as well as participate in her favorite community events such as FNL Cheerleading, Brownie Scouts and Pony League baseball.

Robert is also an active member of the Seal Beach community.

A former Seal Beach city council candidate as well as a member of the Seal Beach Lions, he is also about complete his juris doctorate degree in May.

“Yes, school and work keep us busy but this sounded like a fun experience and we didn’t want the opportunity to pass without giving it a shot. We were able to pull it together in about three weeks and shot it on a Sunday,” he said

“Team Aguilar” as they refer to themselves, are asking for your help to send their commercial to the Super Bowl.

The competition prizes include the airing of their commercial during the Super Bowl broadcast, a $1 million cash prize and a one-year contract with Universal Pictures to produce more projects.

But the public needs to visit the official website and vote in order for that to happen.

Videos are currently taking votes to help rank them for a final spot.

The top 30 videos will go to “official voting” which begins on Jan. 5, 2015. The top 10 commercial makers will then be invited to attend the Super Bowl in Arizona in February 2015.

The top two commercials will air during the game, but only one will win the grand prize.

To vote and send “Daddy’s Girl” to the Super Bowl, visit www.CrashTheSuperBowl.Doritos.com and search for “Daddy’s Girl” in the gallery of videos. It’s currently a top-ranked video but still needs your help to make it to the finals. Watch the video and rank it up to five Stars.
