The Seal Beach City Council this week approved a contract with Hardy & Harper, Inc. for the annual paving program. The contract is for $773,000. The council also authorized the city manager to approve additional work requests and inspection services up to $100,000. (That’s $75,000 for work and $25,000 for inspections.)
This was a Consent Calendar item. The council approves Consent Calendar items collectively, without discussion, unless individual items are removed for a separate vote.
“The work will generally include grinding the existing pavement and installing an asphalt overlay to extend the roadways’ serviceable life,” according to the staff report prepared by Associate Engineer David Spitz.
Hardy & Harper, Inc. was the lowest of eight bidders, according to the Spitz report.
