The Seal Beach Centennial Committee has sold slightly less than 500 commemorative bricks, according to commitee member Laura Walker Ellsworth.
“People are aware of it now,” she said.
She said about 95 percent of the bricks being bought are to be displayed in Old Town near the Seal Beach Pier.
In addition to the pier site, centennial bricks will be displayed in Edison Park, College Park East, Leisure World and Marina Park.
The commemorative bricks sell for $100 each for a specific location or one brick in each of five locations for $300. The price includes a brief message—three lines of 18 characters each, or 54 spaces in all. Ellsworth said 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the city’s 100th anniversary.
