The SBPD holds an open house every couple of years. Visitors toured police headquarters and the jail, briefly visited the WestComm (local 911) dispatch center. (Visitors were asked to be quiet, as the dispatchers were working.) Guests also got a chance to try a shoot/don’t shoot simulator, and enjoyed a West County SWAT demonstration and the SWAT dog, who works out of Cypress. Guests, especially kids, enjoyed the landing and take off of the Long Beach Police Department’s helicopter.
“Cpl. Brian Gray was the incident commander for the Open House,” according to Seal Beach Police Sgt. Nick Nicholas.
