The Rossmoor Community Services District recently announced the appointment of Tony DeMarco as the newest director of the district.

At its regular meeting of Aug. 13, President Michael Maynard administered the Oath of Office to Tony DeMarco, who was then formally sworn in as a member of the Board.

Earlier this year, Director Jeffrey Rips reluctantly resigned from his position with the RCSD Board to accept a promotion to executive director of the Alpert Jewish Community Center in Long Beach.

Director DeMarco was unanimously selected after the recruitment and consideration of all qualified candidates.

“We are excited to have someone of Tony’s caliber on board,” Maynard said. “He is a successful businessman, family man, and has shown outstanding character. I am confident that he will add a valued perspective to our Board, our District and our community.

“I look forward to rolling up our sleeves and working together,” Maynard said.

“I am excited to be a part of what I believe is already a shining example of responsible and effective local government,” DeMarco said.

“Making decisions that shape the Rossmoor community, my community, is an enormous responsibility. Rest assured, it is not a responsibility I take lightly. I will strive to be accessible to my constituents and to maintain the high standards of the District,” DeMarco said.
