Rossmoor Community Services District elects new officers

The Rossmoor Community Services District held its annual election of officers of the Board of Directors at its Tuesday, Jan. 12 board meeting.

The election results were: Shannon Hough was elected president, Jeffrey Rips was elected 1st vice president and Ronald Casey was elected 2nd vice president.

Outgoing President Alfred Coletta said as he passed the gavel, “You are taking office during a period of uncertainty with regard to the financial environment in the state and the county, but I am certain you will be up to the challenge and I wish you much success.”

President Hough said, “Thank you, Director Coletta, for your good service during the past year. Thanks to your leadership, the district’s financial position is in good order and I look forward to serving with you and the rest of the Board during the coming year.”

Hough then presided over the remainder of the meeting.

She appointed board members to the budget, investment and audit committees and to other non-committee assignments.

At the conclusion of the RCSD board meeting, the agency reconvened as the Public Improvements Financing Corporation. The corporation is a body created for the financing of public improvements in Rossmoor such as the rebuilding of the Rossmoor Signature Wall.

Officers for the corporation were also elected at the meeting. Director Hough will serve as president and Director Rips will serve as vice president.

The corporation reappointed Henry Taboada as secretary and chief financial officer and the law firm of BB&K as general counsel.
