In the wake of an increased number of coyote sightings and attacks on animals in Seal Beach and neighboring cities, the City of Seal Beach is hosting a regional coyote meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at McGaugh Elementary School auditorium located at 1698 Bolsa Ave. in Seal Beach.
To effectively address this regional concern, the city is partnering with a variety of agencies, including the cities of Garden Grove, Los Alamitos, Cypress, and Rossmoor. In addition, representatives from the Naval Weapons Station, Joint Forces Training Base, Orange County Animal Care Services, Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Long Beach Animal Care Services will be on hand to share their experiences with urban coyotes and how they dealt with the issue, including the management strategies that worked and those that were less successful.
For information, call Assistant City Manager Patrick Gallegos at 562-431-2527 ext. 1308.
