Refuge Quarterly Breakfast lead by former Los Al military reserve chaplain

A recent Men’s Quarterly Breakfast was held at Refuge Calvary Chapel at 7800 Edinger Avenue In Huntington Beach. Nearly 100 people came to hear an inspirational message titled “Recalibrate Eyes on Eternity.” Refuge Ministry Leader Brad Hornback who is also a former Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base Military Reserve Chaplain, a High School Government Teacher in Paramount and a former Huntington Beach High School Coach discussed the following topics:

1. How do I fit into God’s plan?

2. What is most important in my life?

3. Where do I spend my time?

4. What do I spend my time doing?

5. Do I have eternal focus?

Senior Pastor Bill Welsh said: “I knew his parents from Calvary Chapel Rialto before he met him. I wished when he was in high school that I had a teacher and a mentor like Brad. Brad cares for his students, not just their grades.”

Administrative Pastor Shady Francis said:  “Brad did a great job in sharing what the Lord has been pouring into him, the importance of not growing roots in this world and remembering that we are just passing through.”

Refuge Calvary member and Huntington Harbour resident Arthur Estrada said: “The message was inspiring and made me think about my commitment and what I need to do to draw closer to him.

Refuge Calvary member Adam Jahnkow said: “It’s always great seeing men coming together to fellowship, hearing their voices praising God, and getting fed the Word in a way that challenges us to be better husbands, better fathers, better friends, and better men for Christ.”
