Realtor now state secretary of Women’s Council of Realtors

Los Alamitos resident Tammy Newland, operating principal for Keller Williams Realty in Los Alamitos, was recently installed as the state secretary for the California Women’s Council of Realtors.

Newland has also been appointed to a national position as the National Association of Realtors® Women’s Council Chair for Broker/Owners.

“I am honored to be elected to this position by my peers,” said Newland. “I try to be a positive influence on my fellow business women and my community and look forward to working with the various officers and chapters in the state.”

The installation as WCR state secretary was held in San Diego on Jan. 25 as part of the California Association of Realtors Directors meetings.

Newland is a member of the WCR Long Beach. The WCR Long Beach Chapter is the largest in California and is one of the largest chapters in the country. California is in a race with Texas for the most WCR members and has 44 chapters throughout the state.  As a state officer, Newland will mentor and offer support to those chapters and will be featured at the district business forums throughout California.

The WCR is an organization that helps its members in elevating their profession with education, industry knowledge, and networking opportunities.

Newland has served as the President for the Long Beach chapter, state district vice president and state governor where she helped launch the new South Bay WCR chapter.

She will be running for president elect in June. Newland is a California Association of Realtors director and sits on the Pacific West Association of Realtors budget/finance committee.

“Besides being responsible for capital, vision and management of the offices, I also take an active part in mentoring and training new agents,” said Newland. “The training that we offer is the cornerstone of our company.”

“Being operating principal has fulfilled my dream of helping agents achieve higher success but I still love my clients and selling real estate,” said Newland. “That is why I am active as an agent at the Los Alamitos office, I like working with my past clients as well as meeting new clients.”

“As an agent, I continue to build my business,” said Newland. “My territory includes the greater Long Beach area, North Orange County and the South bay. I bring market expertise, years of experience, integrity, the latest technology and a team of professionals who are well equipped to get homes and investments sold quickly and for top dollar in this ever changing real estate market. I have sold over 120 million dollars of real estate in my career, representing investors, homebuyers, sellers and developers.”

“I really love what I do and I take pride in building successful relationships with my customers,” said Newland. “There is nothing like successfully meeting the challenge of working with interesting people, understanding their goals and helping them achieve their dreams.”

Newland is very active in her local community.  She has been involved with the Junior League of Long Beach, the Assistance League of Long Beach as a sustaining member and is a Leadership Long Beach Alumni as well as a Rotarian with Long Beach Rotary. She has been recognized by many organizations for her volunteerism but considers her greatest accomplishment as that of a mother and grandmother.
