RCSD cancels election, appoints incumbants

The Rossmoor Community Services District board cancelled the election on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The three incumbants ran unopposed, so the board called off the election as a cost-saving measure, according to a statement issued by the RCSD.

Board Members Michael Maynard, Ron Casey and Jeffrey T. Rips received their Certificates in Lieu of Election on Tuesday. The three individuals were re-elected to their respective board seats without opposition for a new four-year term.

By not having an election, the Rossmoor Community Services District saved $11,000 in election costs.

At the next election cycle in two years, the remaining two board seats currently held by Alfred Coletta and Bill Kahlert will be slated for candidates for the subsequent four-year term. Election of new Board officers will take place at the Board’s January 8, 2013 Regular Meeting. President Coletta will also give his State of the District address at this time.

District Board Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month in the Rush Park Auditorium, located at 3001 Blume Dr., in Rossmoor. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
