Los Al Griffins Tiny Mites Vs. Hacienda/La Puente Phantoms- no score at this level
The Los Alamitos Tiny Mites have been showing improvement all season long.
This improvement was shown Saturday when they held the Hacienda/La Puente Phantoms to only one score. Christian Magallanes led the way for the Griffins with two touchdowns.
The second of which was a 76-yard touchdown scamper from Los Al’s own 4 yard line. Defensively, the team continued with its “bend don’t break” attitude. Gary Voigt led the way on defense with several tackles.
Los Al Griffins Mighty Mites (24) at Long Beach 49ers(0)
The Los Al Griffins Mighty Mites dominated the Long Beach 49ers 24-0, which raised their record to 4-2 in OEC conference play. The offense scored four times.
They were led by Nick Valenzuela with two touchdowns. Shane Logan and Maesun Saul added the other two scores. The defense was just as impressive. For the second straight week they did not allow any points. The defense was led by Cole Todd and Nick Valenzuela each with an interception. The team would like to wish Parker James, who was injured in this weeks game, a speedy recovery.
Los Al Griffins Jr. Pee Wee (21) at La Habra White Lions (33)
The Griffins Jr. Pee Wee team suffered a 33-21 loss. The team played without standout player Luke Rodriguez who was injured in last weeks game. Arron Abarca rushed for 107 yards on 8 carries and had 1 rushing T.D. and a 43 yard catch to score a second touchdown. Josiah Norwood had a break out game with 7 rushes for 127 yards and 1 score. Griffins Jr. Pee Wee record goes to 2-4 in league play.
Los Al Griffins Pee Wee (28) Vs. Canyon Hills Wildcats (0)
The Griffins put on a dominant performance beating the Wildcats 28 to 0 moving the league record to 4 and 2. Offensively, touchdowns were made by Raymond Tafoya, Harrison Bonner and Ryan Johnson. Alexandar Lazar threw a long touchdown pass to Harrison Bonner and threw an extra point conversion to Jerry Serrano. Defensively, the Griffins made a safety and interceptions were made by Holden Maney and Jordan Iriye.
Los Al Griffins Jr. Midget (8) at Santa Margarita Blue Eagles (0)
Jr. Midgets win league championship with a 6-0 record after Saturdays game against the undefeated Santa Margarita Blue Eagles. In the third quarter, the Griffins called a reverse to Charlie Schuffler who utilized his blocking and ran 40 yards for the only touchdown of the game. Blake Allen followed with the 2 point kick. The Defense stopped the Blue Eagles from scoring when they threatened to tie up the score in the final minutes of the game. The Griffins Jr. Midget team earned a #1 seed position in playoffs. Los Al Griffins Midget (14) at Pasadena Trojans(19)
Trevor Replogle threw a 15 yard touchdown pass to Joe Wysocki and Matt Locher scored on a 25 yard run as Pasadena escaped with a 19-14 win over the Los Al Midget team. Time ran out as the Griffins were driving on their final posession. Midgets move to 1-5 in league play.
