Playoff action was hot and heavy for Los Alamitos Youth Baseball. The playoffs began last week and will end with the final round on Sunday, June 9.
In one of the longest games ever played in the Bronco Division (age 11-12), the Blue Jays battled the Braves deep into extra-innings. Finally, in the bottom of the 12th, with the bases loaded, Nick Hodge drove in the game-winning RBI for a 5-4 Blue Jay victory.
The Braves took a 4-2 lead in the top of the eighth, and it was looking doubtful for the Blue Jays.  However, with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, league-leading home run hitter Graham Forst smacked his eighth long ball of the year to tie the score.
After that point, both teams stiffened on defense as they battled on for three more innings without scoring. In other action, the Marlins eliminated the Giants to advance to the semifinal round.
The White Sox topped the Phillies to advance to the semifinals as well.
