The recent resignation of District Two Planning Commissioner Robert Aguilar has created a vacancy on the city’s planning board. The vacancy took effect on Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to a recent notice of an “unscheduled vacancy” issued by Seal beach. By law, the City Council has to wait at least 10 business days after posting the notice of a vacancy before appointing a replacement.
District Two includes part of Leisure World and College Park West.
Aguilar ran for the District One City Council seat in 2010 and for the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education in 2016.
