A crane will be placed on the Seal Beach Pier today, Tuesday, Dec. 4, according to Assistant City Manager Patrick Gallegos. He said the crane will be there to move the lateral support beams (called “stringers”) for the pier. “The small crane will also be used to move scaffolding materials. The pier will remain open as this work is performed,” Gallegos said.
The Tot Lot next to the pier will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 5, because of work on the pier that is being done close to the playground.
“On Tuesday, December 11th, the pier will be closed as a very large crane will slowly be moved toward the end of the pier to perform pile driving. A notice of the closure will be posted,” Gallegos said.
