Seal Beach Police made one DUI arrest on Labor Day as a result of weekend DUI checkpoints held Sunday, Aug. 31, and Monday night, Sept. 1.
Both checkpoints were held at Seal Beach Boulevard and Adolfo Lopez, opposite police headquarters.
A Wednesday, Aug. 27, checkpoint was cancelled due to the winter storm.
Checkpoint results:
Sunday, August 31:
• 2127 cars passed through the checkpoint
• 450 cars/drivers screened
• 7 Drivers given field sobriety testing
• 6 unlicensed drivers were identified
• 0 DUI arrests
Monday, September 1
• 1,636 cars passed through the checkpoint
• 340 cars/drivers screened
• 9 given field sobriety testing
• 1 Driver was arrested for DUI
• 4 unlicensed drivers were identified
