Local musicians will be performing a range of music on Friday at Marni’s (formerly Glory Days) starting at 7 p.m.

The show kicks off with Synergy, group of local musicians who met in a church group. The five-member band are all in their 20s and although they do Christian songs, their set list on Friday will include everything from classic rock to ‘90s grunge.

Joe McGrath, one of the original members of the band said he grew up listening to his dad’s music, bands like Pink Floyd, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Led Zepplin. The band also plays some of the music that was popular when they were young, the ‘90s grunge influence.

The band members are McGrath, Jonathan Matthews, Ariana Smith, Jared Hasegawa, Josh Ritchie, Ethan Williams and Ilan De La Cruz. The band name, Synergy, connects to members’ faith.

“It has a lot to do with our relationship to God,” McGrath said.

Wheelhouse is a musical duo, also performing classic rock and pop hits. However, these Seal Beach locals, David Lebovitz and Brian Cannizzaro deliver it with a unique twist. With Lebovitz on guitar and Cannizzaro on cajon, they take some all-time favorites and present them in an entirely new direction.

“Wheelhouse is classically sourced and acoustically crafted,” Matt Murphree said.

Seal Beach Real Estate businessman Murphree and his band, Road to Marz, round out the show. Murphree is joined by Darren Ortiz, Fran McGrath (guitars) and Cannizzaro on percussions. The Road to Marz band has been performing together for about 10 years and has produced music for film and media projects.

The show is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. at Marni’s, 620 Pacific Coast Hwy., Seal Beach, CA 90740. Phone (562) 594-3800; web marnisoc.com.
