There is plenty to take in during a stroll along the sides of Main Street in Seal Beach.
There is the aroma of the sweet shops and the restaurants that waft up from the pier to Pacific Coast Highway.
There are the windows of the hair and nail salons showing a peek of people in the process of pedicures and haircuts.
Perhaps that is why you could walk by the office of EasyMedOnline at 320 Main St. in Seal Beach and perhaps not notice it—unless you were one of its customers.
However, should you venture inside the walls you can find a beehive of activity in this small, but thriving family business.
Mobility scooters, lift chairs, power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, trade-ins, used mobility, service and repairs … rent or buy … They do it all.
Yes, there is plenty to do during a day at the office of EasyMedOnline in Seal Beach. They provide medical equipment supplies, mostly geared toward senior mobility, at manufacturer’s prices.
There are only two such businesses in the city of Seal Beach.
According to Sherry Lawton, who helps her son Ryan run the EasyMed enterprise, people can buy their products online.
“They don’t have to come in,” Ryan Lawton said.
However, they do have their store as a showroom in case people want to try out the products before purchasing. They are proud to say they are a family-run business.
“Because we are small we can provide more customer care,” Ryan Lawton said. The family opened the business with the help of Ryan’s dad about five years ago. Before that the location was the site of Whitesnake Design. The business boasts sales and in-home service throughout the United States.
“For over five years EasyMedOnline has helped thousands of customers meet all of their mobility needs nationwide,” their Web site says.
The Lawtons, who used to live in Colorado, pride themselves on offering a wide selection of mobility products at low discount prices from the most trusted brands that include Pride Mobility, Drive Medical, Invacare, Pacesaver, Shoprider, Golden Technologies, Activecare, Zip’r and others.
The son and mother team say they believe they have hooked into the right market with some of the best demographics for their type of merchandise.
“This is the best place for us to be,” Sherry Lawton said. “Everyone is getting older.”
She and her son, who pursued his education as an economics major, said they are hoping to tap further into that demographic by drawing business from Seal Beach Leisure World, the gated retirement community that represents about two-fifths of the city of Seal Beach’s population.
The Lawtons said they are there to try and help their customers make the right decisions for their health and well-being.
According to their Web site, “When you buy mobility products it can often raise questions. Examples are: powered vs. manual, folding vs. rigid or lightweight vs. heavy duty.
“Our customer service group understands the wheelchair purchasing process.
“We’re ready to provide you with the information you require. So if you’re looking to buy for yourself or family members, we make buying mobility products easy.
Whether its manual wheelchairs or scooters, the Lawtons say EasyMedOnline has the expert staff and the experience to ensure the product fits your requirements.
