The Los Alamitos High football team made too many costly turnovers against Fullerton High in the second round of the CIF Southwest Division playoffs. In all, it coughed up the ball seven times, and as a result, its season came to an end with a 21-7 loss on Friday, Nov. 22 at Fullerton Community Stadium.

The Griffins ended the season with a 9-3 overall record. They managed to accumulate only 37-passing yards and 97 yards on the ground. The team also had to endure without quarterback Nick Wendell, who left the game with an injury in the second quarter.

However, the third quarter proved most costly for the Griffins, considering they fumbled four times during that stretch and the Indians converted two recoveries into scores to grab a 21-0 lead.

The Griffins finally dented the board in the fourth quarter. Fullback Mike Hayden did the scoring, pounding in a 1-yard run. He would finish with 22-rushing yards.

Wendell managed to tally 34 yards before suffering an injury. In his absence, the Griffins recorded just 7 yards through the air in the second half.
