The Rossmoor Homeowners Association will host a meeting Wednesday, July 1, to discuss increased traffic generated by four neighborhood schools. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Montecito Center at 12341 Montecito Dr.
The RHA has joined with the Los Alamitos Unified School District, the County of Orange and the Rossmoor Commuity Services District to look at ways to relieve traffic congestion around the elementary schools at the major intersections with Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard.
So far, the district has proposed cutting 70 to 80 students out of the elementary schools. Most of the students who would be removed from the Rossmoor schools come from out of the district. There are more than 900 out-of-district students in the LAUSD. The school district also plans to reduce the cost of bus transporation to attract more riders.
