Elementary schools in the Los Alamitos Unified School District hosted festivities to celebrate the National Education Association’s Read Across America. This annual reading motivation and awareness campaign calls for every child, in every community, to celebrate reading in honor of the birthday of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss.
Under the direction of Mrs. Susan McElderry, 2nd grade students at McGaugh Elementary performed “Seussical the Musical.” There were also celebrity guest readers from Seal Beach Lions Club, Seal Beach Police Department, and Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station.
