Seal Beach lifeguards performed two rescues, responded to four medical aid calls and treated eight stingray injuries from Dec. 1 to Dec. 14, according to Marine Safety (Lifeguard) Department Chief Joe Bailey
“Mild surf and weather has slowed our rescue activities considerably,” wrote Bailey in his status report to the city manager. “This time of year gives us and opportunity to perform much needed maintenance to our equipment and building. This lull in activity may be coming to an end as winter storm patterns have started to push surf our way.”
In other news, Marine Safety Officer Nick Bolin has been meeting with boat repair companies, collecting bids for work on the city’s rescue boat.
