Marines from the Camp Pendleton-based 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU) will be using pre-designated landing zones throughout Los Alamitos, Calif., from Feb. 3 – Feb. 12.
Local residents can expect to see and hear helicopters throughout the training. The purpose of the training is to familiarize the 15th MEU’s Air Combat Element with a full spectrum of missions in an urban environment.
The majority of these missions will be conducted during normal flight hours and all noise ordinances will be in compliance. Specific areas this activity will affect include: Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Rossmoor, Cypress, and Garden Grove.
