The cottage is finally installed in its new home in Founders Square, near the Red Car Museum and the Mary Wilson Library. Seal Beach Lion Deb Machen, who has volunteered to chair fundraising efforts, said Individuals and organizations donated $13,000 within the first 24 hours of the announcement at the City Council meeting that the 115-year-old beach cottage had been donated to the city. “Continuing fundraising efforts have been delayed until it has been determined what materials and labor will be needed for the renovation. Many from the community have expressed a desire to help with the labor,” Machen said.
