Seal Beach Lifeguard tryouts will be held Sunday, April 11, at Marine Safety Department Headquarters on Ocean Avenue, according to a city flyer.
Orientation starts at 8 a.m.
Requirements:
- California driver’s license,
- Be 18 or a graduating senior before July 1.
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Have 20/40 vision (not corrected)
Interview times will be posted that morning and afternoon on April 11.
Pre-employment screening must be completed within the week prior to training.
The training program will begin May 1 and end May 23. Training will be 6 to 10 p.m., Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays.
The written and practical tests will be held on May 23.
Pay for training is $14 an hour.
Pay for hired Lifeguards will start at $18.17 an hour. There’s a 5% EMT bonus.
