Seal Beach Lions charity golf tournament
Imagine this: sunny, clear skies, nine holes freshly manicured, ready and waiting for you, each with its own activity or challenge, and plenty of liquid courage.
The Seal Beach Lions Club Charity Golf Tournament is on Saturday, June 7 at Bixby Village in Long Beach.
Golfers of all ages, of any skill level, come out for the day and help support sight-related charities; but this is not a typical charity event or fancy-pants golf tournament. This year’s event includes blindfolds, impaired goggles, obstacles and copious amounts of laughter and ridiculousness.
While we’ve been unable to secure any A-list celebrities, there will be plenty of Seal Beach Locals who are celebs in their own right, and you know what that means: there will be tons of entertainment for all.
Even the lovely ladies of the Miss Seal Beach Court will be on hand for the festivities. Where else would you rather be?
Check-in begins at 1 p.m., Shotgun start at 2 p.m. and a banquet dinner at Mary Wilson Library Senior Center in Seal Beach at 5 p.m., catered by Beachwood BBQ, with drinks provided by Dogz Bar and Grill and sponsored by Republic Services.
There is a raffle drawing and awards are given to winners of select holes. There are additional surprises (we can’t spoil them all), but we promise lots of smiles, plenty of cold beverages and amazing food to cap off the day.
The tournament is open to everyone, so please invite your family and friends to come join – registration has already begun and we expect this event to sell out. It is going to be a great day filled with special memories, and perhaps, most importantly, remember that all proceeds will go to the visually impaired.
Registration is open now online at http://www.sealbeachlions.org/golf-tournament.html or you can contact Chairman Grant Newton at sblionsgolftournament@sealbeachlions.org and register with him. Hope to see you on the course!
