The Seal Beach Police Department led a procession of dignitaries, Leisure World clubs, residents traveling on foot, in golf carts and on decorated bicycles Saturday, June 23. The occassion: the parade marking the retirement community’s 50th anniversary.

Mayor Michael Levitt and
his wife Gail were there, of course. So were the Shuffleboard Club, the Cribbage Club and the Vietnamese-American Club—which brought a couple of beautiful and friendly, if not magical, dragons to the party.
The parade began at 10 a.m. and strolled down the west side of St. Andrews Drive to the parking lot near the Golden Rain Foundation Administration Building. There, a country fair was scheduled to start at 11 a.m.—though in
fact the fair had already attracted a large crowd by 10:30 a.m. or so, when the parade concluded. Fortunately, the fair booths were already up and manned.
Fifty-one individuals and institutions, including newly elected Foundation President Tim Bolton, participated in the parade.
