Dr. Mark Johnson, assistant superintendent of Educational Services, was recognized by the Los Alamitos Unified School District at the June 10 Board of Education meeting for being selected as the Administrator of the Year for Curriculum and Instruction.
“I highly value his opinions, guidance, and suggestions and feel extremely fortunate to have him as an Assistant Superintendent with our District,” said Superintendent Sherry Kropp.
Dr. Johnson has worked for Los Alamitos Unified the past 14 years as a teacher, assistant principal, then principal, director, and is currently the assistant superintendent of Educational Services.
Truly a teacher at heart who is passionate about teaching and learning, Dr. Johnson is driven by the vision of improving the lives of young people. Over the past several years, he has significantly improved the efficacy of the district’s professional development program. Due to his leadership, more teachers are leading, facilitating, and coaching colleagues than ever before.
Dr. Johnson eagerly embraces the district’s vision of igniting unlimited possibilities for students in academics, athletics, activities, and the arts.
He promotes a culture that supports ongoing learning, reflective practices, creativity, and innovation. As an expert on teaching, professional development, and school leadership, Dr. Johnson is a valued member of the district leadership team.
