Huntington Harbour Mailman Rick Scoccia has been working the Bolsa Chica and Edinger neighborhood of 385 houses for 38 years.
He has collected holiday “thank you cards” that people on his route have given him.
“What I like best is the appreciation from my customers. After a while, I started getting so many that I needed somewhere to put them so My wife, Debbie, and I got the card holder. It’s nice looking at them when I get home from work.”
Dan McCoy, a former Hollywood stuntman who lives on Scoccia’s Route said, “ Rick is always dependable. You can set your clocks by him. He always comes to our house at 3pm and walks to each house instead of driving. His mother, Theresa, 88, and sister, Donna, appreciated the Vietnam Veteran’s friendly personality.”
Maverick star and former Huntington Beach Mayor Jack Kelly also lived on Scoccia’s Route. Kelly and McCoy appeared in “Gambler 4—Luck of The Draw,” also starring Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers and Clint Walker.
