Artist Howard Hitchcock has an exhibit at the Anderson Gallery in Sunset Beach. These pieces are masterfully crafted in his very unique style from abstract acrylic, watercolor paintings and printmaking that reflect some of his sculptures. Hitchcock is a retired professor of art at California State University Long Beach.
Hitchcock has exhibited in several states as well as Mexico City and Anjo, Japan. He has works in several permanent museum collections including the National Museum of Watercolor in Mexico City and the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. He also represents Huntington Beach as “ Outstanding Artist of the Year” in 1987. Receptions for the artist are Sundays, July 10,17, 24, 31, from 2 to 5 p.m.
The exhibit continues throughout July at the Anderson Art Gallery in Sunset Beach. The gallery is located at 16812 Pacific Coast Highway, next to Captain Jack’s.
