An event to raise funds for the 24th annual Seal Beach Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at O’Malley’s on Main Street.

The event will feature an opportunity drawing and live musical performances by Los Alamitos High School students. Money raised at the event will support the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, a local event as nearly iconic to Seal Beach as the annual Christmas Parade.

One of the organizers of the fundraiser, businessman Frank Carvajal, said there would be two ways for individuals to contribute to the tree ceremony this year.

First, anyone who donates a minimum of $25 by Nov. 12 will have a tag ornament hung in their honor on the Seal Beach Christmas Tree.

He said the plastic foam tags have been hanging on the Seal Beach tree for years—ever since the inception of the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Carvajal also said that this year, donors may buy ornaments to take home and hang on their own trees for $15. The take-home ornaments may be purchased online at the Chamber of Commerce website or at participating stores. He said the participating merchants would have a sign in their windows.

The actual tree lighting ceremony will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Nov. 29, at Eisenhower Park park at the end of the Seal Beach Pier.An event to raise funds for the 24th annual Seal Beach Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at O’Malley’s on Main Street.
