The Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base has scheduled an internal force protection exercise on Thursday, Sept. 15.
This exercise is designed to train staff and test plans, procedures and response to incidents that could potentially impact military personnel and civilian tenants assigned to the base.
The training will be conducted in partnership with local law enforcement and will necessitate closure of the main gate to the base on Lexington Drive for short periods. No live or blank ammunition will be utilized in the exercise.
The exercise will be conducted during normal operating hours, and efforts will be taken to minimize inconvenience to residents.
