Donna Leedy named OCNN senior account executive

Group Publisher Steven Remery, Orange County Neighborhood Newspapers, Inc., has promoted Seal Beach resident Donna M. Leedy to senior account executive of the OCNN. The group includes the Sun Newspapers.

In her new job, Leedy will provide guidance and supervision to the paper’s sales team, coordinate special sales projects, establish strong relationships with the community. According to Leedy, she will be a liaison for communication or cooperation that facilitates a close working relationship between the people and the Sun.

Leedy has been with the Sun News for 13 years. She started in the Legal Department, handling all the legal notices for the Sun and the Catalina Islander. Along with processing the legal notices, she took care of the classified ads and inside sales for all the Orange County Neighborhood News group, which includes the Sun, the Catalina Islander, the Orange County News, The Independent, Westminster Herald-Journal, and The Event/News Enterprise. In 2018, she moved into outside sales covering Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, and Huntington Beach areas, offering the community the opportunity to promote the Orange County Neighborhood Newspapers.

Leedy hails from Southern Illinois and has been in the California area for 35 years. She has worked in the printing field for 45 years, starting her career with Forbes Magazine, Good Housekeeping to name a few.

Prior to joining the Sun, Leedy worked for a Long Beach-based newspaper for 14 years as an editor, reporter, and processed legal notices.

Leedy is involved with many aspects of the community, starting with the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce, donating her time to community projects, and making sure the voice of the Sun Newspapers is heard throughout the community. Donna can be reached via e-mail at donna@sunnews.org.
