Monday, November 18

Animal Information—6:41 a.m.—Corsair Way—The caller reported an injured hawk to the rear of the caller’s home. Referred to Long Beach Animal Care Services.

Transient—12:52 p.m.—12th Street and Pacific Coast Highway—The caller said an individual who the caller apparently described as a transient was sleeping on a bus bench. Police unit 107 counseled the individual, who apparently agreed to comply with police instructions to move on.

Petty Theft Report—10:04 p.m.—Fourth Street—The caller said $400 was taken from the caller’s wallet on Nov. 3. The caller provided suspect information.

Tuesday, November 19

Disturbance, Noise—1:41 a.m.—Old Ranch Parkway—The caller said the engine of a big rig had been running for the past 45 minutes. The caller also said someone had been running a fork lift that was also loud. Police unit 206 contacted the occupants of the truck and advised them about the Municipal Code. No further police services were necessary.

Found Dog—6:03 p.m.—Bolsa and Balboa—The caller was on his bike when he found a gold Labrador retriever running around with a black collar, but no tags. The caller took the dog home until Long Beach Animal Care Services could pick the dog up.

Suspicious Circumstances—6:17 p.m.—Marina Drive—The caller found a woman on a bike sitting in front of a business, crying. She told the caller that someone tried to hurt her. The caller quoted the woman as saying she was a transient. The caller said she looked as if she had been struck by another person. However, police unit 207 found no signs of battery on the woman. She was apparently drunk. She told police she had been assaulted in Long Beach. She was transported.

Burgalary Report—6:52 p.m.—Riversea Road—The crime apparently occurred between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Loss: cash and a passport, so far as the caller could tell at that time. Point of entry: a window. Report taken.

Wednesday, November 20

Welfare Check—3:50 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said two women with children were asking passersby for money. The caller expressed concern for the children being out in the cold. Police unit M7 apparently advised the women about begging and they apparently said they would comply.

Residential Burglary—5:23 p.m.—14th Street—The crime apparently occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Point of entry: unknown. Loss: computers, sunglasses, purses, jewelry and a laptop. Report taken.

Petty Theft Report—7:28 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The crime apparently occurred at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16. Loss: a Go Pro camera, a man’s jacket and two memory cards valued at $529.96. The caller provided police with suspect information. Report taken.

IN LEISURE WORLD

Monday, November 18

Keep the Peace—9:29 a.m.—St. Andrews Drive, Mutual Unknown—The caller said he was told that he would need a police officer present to keep the peace while he picked up his belongings in a storage unit within Leisure World. He was allowed one hour to pack his possessions. Matter solved.

Fraud—2:03 p.m.—St. Andrews Drive, Mutual Unknown—Someone used the caller’s credit account to make fraudulent charges.

The caller did not know if the unknown suspect still had the caller’s card.

Wednesday, November 20

Counseling—8:07 a.m.—Northwood Road, Mutual Unknown—The caller said she was getting continuous calls from a mam claiming to be a family member and asking for money.

Monday, November 18

Abandoned Vehicle—11:05 a.m.—Foster Road and Gertrude Drive—.A deputy looked for a car that had been parked for multiple days. The caller also said that street sweepers have passed the car several times, but the car has never been ticketed.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—12:39 p.m.—Kittrick Drive—The caller said there might be squatters inside a home that is for sale.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—7:57 p.m.—Montecito Road—The caller’s son, a minor, saw a man holding a gun in the back parking lot of the complex.

Citizen Assist—10:14 p.m.—Mainway Drive—The caller said an unspecified number of juveniles put a firework and grapefruit on her porch. She also reportedly said no one was seen.

Tuesday, November 19

Shots Heard—12:26 a.m.—Mainway Drive—The caller heard one gunshot five minutes earlier. Then the motion light at the caller’s front door went on, but no one knocked on the door. No suspect information

Wednesday, November 20

Illegal Peddling—3:34 p.m.—Yellowtail Drive and St. Cloud Drive—A deputy searched for a truck that was reportedly soliciting and might be occupied by landscapers.

Suspicious Person in Vehicle—4:16 p.m.—Argyle Drive—A deputy searched for a four-door car occupied by three men. The caller said the men were walking in driveways and looking at cars.
