Crime Log: Seal Beach man arrested for stabbing his father

A Seal Beach man was arrested early Thursday, Oct. 14, for the attempted murder of his father.

Police were called to the 100 block of Seal Beach’s 10th Street at about 1:24 a.m. last Thursday in response to a report of a man with multiple stab wounds. He was stabbed in the head and torso. Police did not release the victim’s name.

Police identified a suspect in the stabbing—the victim’s adult son.

The reason for the stabbing is still under investigation, but according to the police, preliminary reports indicate that the stabbing was the result of an on-going domestic conflict between the father and son.

The 51-year-old victim was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Police booked Dalton Aguirre 22, of Seal Beach on a charge of attempted murder at the Orange County Jail.

He was booked for attempted murder  and booked at the Orange County Jail.

According to the Orange County Superior Court Web site, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office has charged him with attempted murder with three potential sentence “enhancements” if he is convicted.

The enhancements are: premeditated attempted murder,  using a deadly weapon and inflicting great bodily harm.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Web site, Aguirre’s bail has been set at $1 million.

Los Al Police arrest two Highland car burglary suspects

In the early morning of Thursday, Oct. 14, two anonymous witnesses reported two people behaving suspiciously near a black Mercedes Benz parked on Reagan Street in Los Alamitos.

It was approximately 3:30 a.m.

A police unit went to Reagan Street to investigate. As officers were being directed to the location of the suspicious individuals, they found one man seated in the Mercedes.

He was rummaging through the car while another man crouched behind a resident’s wall. Police detained both men without incident. The suspects were Enrique Francisco Lopez, 25, and his brother, Christopher Edward Lopez, 30, both of Santa Ana.

They were arrested and booked on multiple counts of burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property.

Police determined that at least five other vehicles in the same neighborhood had been victimized.

An assortment of personal property—electronics, clothing, and other miscellaneous items—were taken and subsequently recovered.

According to Los Alamitos Police Department, the suspects targeted locked cars and unlocked cars alike.

Both were transported to the Seal Beach Detention Facility where they will be transferred to the Orange County Jail.

Property seized from the suspect’s car is thought to be connected to similar crimes and Los Alamitos detectives are looking for possible victims from as far away as the Inland Empire.

Los Alamitos has seen a significant increase in vehicle burglaries and thefts from unlocked cars within the last two months, and the public is reminded to take appropriate precautions to minimize their chances of becoming a victim.

You know, like locking your car door.

The police are asking anyone with additional information about these crimes to call Detective Bureau supervisor at (562) 431-2255, extension 405.
