The Seal Beach Police Department recently released a video and a still photograph of an automobile theft suspect who took stole a car on 11th Street in September.
The suspect later abandoned the car, taking the victim’s possessions with him.
The crime occurred on Friday, Sept. 10, apparently around 10 a.m., according to the SBPD crime bulletin. The victim’s blue 2002 Toyota Sienna mini-van was taken from the 100 block of 11th Street.
The van was abandoned at the Regency Shopping Center on Pacific Coast Highway, commonly known as the Pavilion’s center.
The suspect was described as a man in his mid- to late-20s, and was seen wearing a red Chicaco Bulls hat, a black shirt and black shorts.

Stabbing victim leaves hospital

The Lakewood man who was stabbed in Old Town in early October has been released from the hospital, according to Sgt. Phil Gonshak, the Seal Beach Police Department’s public information officer.
Gonshak said the victim was expected to recover from his injuires.
As previously reported, officers found the 23-year-old victim while investigating a disturbance at the northeast corner of Eighth Street and Ocean Avenue at 3:44 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 5.
The SBPD is treating the case as an attempted homicide.
The victim and the suspect were both described as Hispanic.
The suspect is reportedly =in his mid-30s, 5 feet 5 inches, medium to chubby build with short black hair and possibly a mustache.
According to the police, the suspect was wearing a plain charcoal colored t-shirt with jeans and unknown shoes. He did not appear to have piercings or tattoos.

Patrol Check—4:02 p.m.—Pacific Coast Highway and Seal Beach Boulevard—Police unit 107 checked the area for an individual who was reportedly digging along the southeast corner near the Naval Weapons Station Gate. The officer met with NWS personnel and found a hole that had been dug by an animal.

Car Versus Bicyclist—7:41 a.m.—605 Freeway and Katella Avenue—A cyclist was down near the 605 freeway on-ramp. He was conscious and breathing. Police requested a sigalert east bound on Katella Avenue, and required the California Highway Patrol to shut down the northbound 605-off ramp for the next hour. CHP called back to advise that the off-ramp had been shut down. Another party involved advised that the bicyclist was hit and that he hit her vehicle. She said there was damage to her vehicle. The bicyclist sustained minor scrapes on his left shoulder. Report taken.

Transient—11:06 a.m.—Katella Avenue—The caller reported second-hand information that a tenant said a transient was sleeping in a downstairs hallway on the east end of the building, and was possibly a man. The caller was advised to leave the building. The caller agreed to comply.

Drunk—1:08 a.m.—Los Alamitos Boulevard—A man was trying to ride his bicycle home to Anaheim, but kept passing out. The reporting party said he kept refusing a ride. Patrol was out on foot checking the area, but was unable to locate the man.

Welfare Check—5:35 a.m.—Katella Avenue—The caller reported a man lying on the ground on the side of the building. It was unknown if the man was sleeping or passed out. The caller said the man did not appear to be a transient. It turned out the man was waiting for a bus to head to Santa Monica.

Disturbance—1 p.m.—Reagan Street—A woman was in front of the location asking customers for money and refusing to leave. The woman was advised against panhandling, and said she would comply.

Person Down—1:58 p.m.—Los Alamitos Buulevard—The caller reported a male lying on his side on the cement by the front door. He was not moving, and it was unknown if he was breathing or if he fell. He was already lying there when the caller got to the location. He appeared to have no visible injuries, and was a local transient sleeping

Transient—6:24 p.m.—Sausalito Street—The caller reported second-hand information from the cleaning crew of an individual loitering in the patio area of the location. He was a man with no shirt and is very dirty. He had a puppy with him, and was talking to himself. Police arrived and he checked out okay.

Fire—8:38 p.m.—Howard Avenue—The caller said he saw a fire in the back of the park, and it was unknown if people were having a barbeque. Orange County Fire Department was in route. It turned out some individuals attempting to barbeque food, and the fire was put out. The individuals were advised of the park being closed during darkness.

Patrol Check—2:04 p.m.—Kensington Road—The caller reported sewage draining into the street from an RV. The RV reportedly looked like a van with a 26-foot cab on it.
Suspicious Person or Circumstances—7:42 p.m.—Foster Road—The caller said someone rang the doorbell, but when the caller looked outside no one was there. The caller requested a patrol check.

Burglary Report—8:21 a.m.—Harrisburg Road—This was apparently a residential burglary.
Suspicious Person or Circumstances—8:51 p.m.—Wembley Road and Chesney Drive—The caller said a man riding a bicycle appeared to be under the influence. He was sweating and swearing.
Vandalism in Progress—8:52 p.m.—Kensington Road—The caller said a man on a bicycle (wearing different clothes from the individual in the 8:51 p.m. call) slashed the tires of the caller’s car five minutes prior to the call to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Disturbance—9:48 p.m.—Kensington Road—The caller said a man was running down the street and yelling, “Get out of here,” possibly while holding a stick.
Vandalism Report—10:39 p.m.—Kensington Road—The caller reported slashed tires.
