Crime Log: Police seek evidence in multiple Old Town area tire slashings

Seal Beach Police Department officers are looking for witnesses or videos of a series of Old Town tire-slashing incidents that took place last week.

Seven or eight tires were slashed during the night of Monday, Oct. 21, or the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 22, according to Sgt. Phil Gonshak, public informaiton officer for the SBPD.

The tires were slashed between 12th Street and 10th Street, from Ocean Avenue to Electric Avenue.

Gonshak said none of the victims was specifically targeted. The crime appears to have been random vandalism.

Police don’t have a description of the suspects, but they were apparently a very loud group.

Gonskak said police were scouring the area for videos of the crime or witnesses to the crime.

He said police are trying to prevent a reoccurrance.
